PETALING JAYA: Three areas in Johor registered unhealthy air pollutant index (API) readings at 9am on Saturday (Oct 7).
They were Larkin (156), Pasir Gudang (152) and Batu Pahat (122), according to data from the Environment Department's Air Pollutant Index Management System (Apims) website.
Nilai in Negri Sembilan, which had an API reading of 151 at the same time the day before, dipped into the moderate range with 98; while the air quality at Bukit Rambai, Melaka improved from 112 to 89.
Elsewhere in the country, 54 out of the total 68 monitoring stations had moderate API readings while 11 stations recorded good air quality.
An API reading of 0-50 is considered good; 51-100 moderate; 101-200 unhealthy; 201-300 very unhealthy; and above 300, hazardous.
Areas with good API readings on Saturday morning included Kota Kinabalu, Sabah; Besut, Terengganu; Kangar, Perlis; Langkawi, Kedah; Balik Pulau, Penang; and Taiping, Perak.
In the central peninsula and the Klang Valley, all monitoring stations recorded moderate air quality.
