Police arrest two trying to evade roadblock near Kuala Selangor


KUALA SELANGOR: Two men were arrested following a 30km car chase after they attempted to escape a roadblock here.

In a statement on Thursday (Oct 5), Kuala Selangor OCPD Supt Ramli Kasa said that the two had tried to escape a roadblock along KM71 of Jalan Klang-Teluk Intan at around 9.30am.

"The suspect's vehicle crashed into a ditch, and both men got out and ran into a nearby palm oil plantation. Both were caught soon after," he said.

Checks showed that the suspects had around 1.53g of suspected drugs and a straw believed to have been used for drug consumption.

"Records showed that one had 14 prior criminal offences, and nine drug-related ones. The other had four criminal and 12 drug-related offences," he said, adding that both tested positive for drugs.
