MELAKA: The state is facing another sort of “traffic jam” issue, and this time it’s not on the roads but on one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes, the Strait of Malacca.
The growing maritime traffic along the route has reduced areas for merchant ships and oil tankers to anchor, according to Melaka rural development, agriculture and food security committee chairman Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh.
