THE Batu parliamentary constituency office has launched an action team to help address issues faced by Tamil schools, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Batu MP P. Prabakaran, who officiated the launch of the committee at his service centre, said the team has already conducted fact-finding missions to nine Tamil schools in the Kuala Lumpur area.

Many of the schools are still struggling for basic necessities, he said.

One of the schools has been slated to have another classroom building for years but funds have not yet been allocated, he added.

Those problems are contributing to the decline in enrolment at Tamil schools, he said.

The team will find ways to speed up the resolution of the issues faced.
