A TOTAL of 60 students from B40 families will be receiving laptops from the Malaysia Indian Transformation Unit (Mitra), Makkal Osai reported.
Bangi MP Syahredzan Johan said the effort to identify and help the students is being undertaken by his constituency office and Mitra. Indian students from B40 families who have newly enrolled in public and private universities can apply for the laptops.
So far, 20 applications have been received and students who meet the requirements should apply for the remaining 40 laptops. The students and families can contact Kajang councillor R. Thiagaraja and the Indian village heads from Kajang, Sungai Ramal and Balakong, he said.
> The Penang Hindu Endowment Board (PHEB) will host a town hall session with the Hindu community in Penang, Makkal Osai reported.
PHEB deputy chairman Senator Dr. RA Lingeshwaran said there would be two sessions of the town hall, both on Sunday, at the City Hall in Jalan Padang Kota at 10am and at the Lebuh Benggali digital library in Butterworth at 5pm.
