Three more suspects held over body-in-car case

KUALA LUMPUR: Three more suspects, including a woman, have been arrested over the abduction and murder of a man whose body was found in a car in Puchong, Selangor.

This brings the total number of suspects arrested over the murder to seven.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Zam Halim Jamaluddin said the three suspects were arrested between Friday and Sunday.

“The three have been remanded to assist with further investigations into the case,” he said when contacted yesterday.

Police, he added, had also obtained an extension to the remand for the earlier four suspects who were arrested on Sept 6.

It was earlier reported that the body of a man was found in a car in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The 26-year-old victim was discovered in a Proton Gen2 at about 12.50am near a petrol station at Batu 14, Puchong.

A post-mortem revealed that the victim had suffered a broken jaw and ribs, as well as a fractured skull.

Initial investigations showed that he had been abducted by a group of men at Kampung Muhibbah People’s Housing Project on Sunday.

The victim’s father lodged a report at the Bukit Jalil police station at 5am last Monday after being alerted to the abduction by his son’s girlfriend.

Acting on information, police detained four men, aged between 27 and 35, in the Klang Valley before the body was found.

Police believe that the motive is revenge for stealing valuables belonging to the main suspect, who is still at large.

The four suspects detained earlier had prior criminal records, including for drug-related offences. They also tested positive for drugs.
