Suhakam’s Rahmat moving to new role


PETALING JAYA: Prof Datuk Rahmat Mohamad will resign from his post as the chairman of Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) effective Thursday.

The Legal Affairs Division of the Prime Minister’s Department said this was following Rahmat’s appointment as the Asian International Arbitration Centre Advisory Board chairman by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reforms) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said on Aug 23.
