KOTA BARU: All Kelantan state lawmakers, including those from the Opposition, will receive equal allocations from the state government, says Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud.
The Kelantan Mentri Besar said the state government will treat all its elected representatives fairly as they were chosen by the people.
“Although there are several political ideologies, the elections are over. What remains now are assemblymen who represent the people,” he said after announcing the state executive councillors’ portfolios here yesterday, Bernama reported.
In the recent state election, Perikatan Nasional parties PAS and Bersatu won 43 of the 45 state seats.
The two remaining seats were won by Pakatan Harapan’s Dr Hafidzah Mustakim (Kota Lama) and Barisan Nasional’s Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim (Galas).
Mohd Nasssuruddin will take up the planning, public administration, finance, economy and land portfolios while his deputy, Datuk Dr Mohamed Fadzli Hassan, will oversee regional development, natural resources, integrity, human development and law.
Wan Roslan Wan Hamat will take over the education, higher education, green technology, digital and innovation portfolio while Mohd Asri Mat Daud will be in charge of Islamic development, Da’wah, information and public relations.
Investment, industry, human resources, trade and entrepreneurship will be under Datuk Md Anizam Ab Rahman and Hilmi Abdullah will handle local government, housing, health and environment.
Tuan Mohd Saripudin Tuan Ismail is in charge of agriculture, agro-food industry and commodities while Datuk Dr Izani Husin will oversee works, infrastructure, water and rural development.
The council’s sole female member, Rohani Ibrahim, will be responsible for welfare, women and family development.
Datuk Kamarudin Md Nor is in charge of tourism, culture, arts and heritage, while Zamakhshari Muhammad will oversee youth, sports, NGOs and community unity.
