ILLEGAL breast enlargement procedures through filler injections are being offered for as low as RM999 and up to RM2,299, but women better think twice about getting such treatments, Kosmo! reported.
The rates being offered by uncertified beauticians were based on the amount of filler needed and the desired breast size. The procedure, which was previously popular in South Korea, Indonesia and Thailand, is said to be easier and faster, and can be done at home.
A Kelantan woman who offered the service said the price covered a treatment session that included antibiotics, painkillers and massages, with a free consultation. The woman, who started operating at the end of last year, said before inserting the filler, the client would be injected with an anaesthetic and it takes between three and four hours per treatment session. She also claimed that it would be safe and painless, and the effect would be visible within an hour.
The daily also spoke to a bank employee known as Hana, 31, who took filler injections last year and now advised other women to think twice before going for the procedure.
“I didn’t expect that the third time I did the treatment, the filler injected in the breast would burst. I endured the pain but fortunately, I was able to go to the hospital.
“The doctors there didn’t have time to operate because it burst on its own, so they had to put in antibiotics,” she added, while noting that the filler injection procedure was not permitted in beauty spas or clinics because it was not approved by the Health Ministry.
