THE kind gesture of a Malay woman feeding a stray dog touched the hearts of many, China Press reported.
Social media users praised her after a recording of the good deed was uploaded. The video has garnered over 857,000 views on Facebook so far.
“The dog looks at the camera as though saying ‘thank you’,” one of them commented.
In the clip that was posted on July 27, the woman spots a stray dog outside an eatery staring at the outlet.
“You are hungry but you have no money, right? Never mind, mama (will) buy you fried chicken,” she says.
Then, through a man, the food is placed in front of the canine.
The dog hesitates but after licking the food a few times, it grabs the chicken in its mouth and runs to a nearby lawn to enjoy the meal.
“I saw tears in its eyes,” says the woman.

He was sent for treatment at a hospital.
The story was revealed by his colleague, who said the team also discovered sex toys and bras during the refurbishment work.
The magazines have been auctioned off online for a tidy sum, the builder added.
