A SPECIAL edition Starbucks tumbler released for the Asian market in collaboration with famous K--pop group Blackpink is being resold for up to RM5,000 per unit, Kosmo! reported.

The original price is between RM200 and RM478, but buyers have been making money by reselling them at exorbitant prices.

According to the daily, some are willing to pay more to get the tumbler, with many sharing their joy upon successfully securing the item. A check on TikTok by Kosmo! found that some resellers were criticised by the public.

“Even at the price of RM3,500, there are people selling it. You know this is a special edition, but the price is ridiculous,” said TikTok user Nurhidayah Nawi.

“It’s not just happening in our country, it’s also being resold at RM2,000 in Indonesia while some of the full editions even reached RM5,000,” said Rose Roslan Tamim, another user.

One social media user, however, argued that the price made sense as the tumbler is only available in Asia.

“For me, it’s okay to sell at that kind of price. This is special for the Asian market. If the seller is wise and uses any international sales platform, he may be able to sell at a higher price.”
