MACC activates operation rooms


PETALING JAYA: Round-the-clock operation rooms have been set up by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to keep tabs on the six state elections and the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election.

The seven operation rooms, which were activated yesterday, are at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya and its offices in Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.

“The operation rooms will allow members of the public to channel information including lodging reports of corruption and abuse of power during the state elections and Kuala Terengganu by-election. Candidates and political parties are reminded not to resort to activities that are against the law,” it said in a statement.

The operation rooms will be open until Aug 12.
