State polls: BN to contest 15 seats in Kedah

KUALA LUMPUR: Kedah Barisan Nasional liaison chairman Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid is among the 15 names announced as the coalition's candidates in the upcoming state elections in Kedah.

The former Umno vice-president will be contesting in Pedu seat, which he held for two terms from 2004-2013.

The Pedu incumbent is PAS' Mohd Radzi Md Amin, who won the seat for two terms from 2018-2023 on a PKR ticket.

Barisan announced that it will be fielding Datuk Mohamad Khizri Abu Kassim in Jeneri seat, where the incumbent is Kedah caretaker Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.

Other seats Barisan will contest in Kedah include Ayer Hangat, Ayer Hitam, Bukit Kayu Hitam, Bukit Lada and Anak Bukit.
