Sarawak to hold grand celebration on 60th anniversary of independence

KUCHING: A grand celebration will be held for Sarawak's 60th anniversary of independence within Malaysia this year as the state looks back on how far it has come, says Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

The state Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister said the budget allocated for the celebrations, which began on May 28 and ends on Aug 19, was a secondary consideration.
