Policeman found dead with gunshot wound to head in Rembau


SEREMBAN: A 58-year-old policeman was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head at the Rembau district police station here.

Negri Sembilan police chief Dep Comm Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yusoff said the incident happened at about 6.30pm on Saturday (July 1).

"His remains have been sent to the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital for a post mortem. The case has been classified as a sudden death and the investigation is underway,"he said in a statement.

He added that the deceased was working at the district criminal investigation department at the time of his death

DCP Ahmad Dzaffir appealed to the public to not comment on the incident as it could jeopardise the police probe.
