No special holiday for Negri, says MB

SEREMBAN: There will be no special holiday for civil servants in Negri Sembilan tomorrow, says Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun (pic).

The Mentri Besar said those who wished to take a longer break to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha are allowed to take leave.

“Since the state assembly will be dissolved on July 1, it would be good for us to come in on the last day for any unfinished work and meet and thank the civil servants who had served commendably for the past five years,” he said.

Earlier, Aminuddin had an audience with state ruler Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir to seek the Yang di-Pertuan Besar’s consent to dissolve the state assembly. The state assembly will be dissolved on July 1.

The Selangor government has agreed to grant an additional day off for civil servants in the state on Friday in accordance with the Holiday Act 1951.

State Secretary Datuk Haris Kasim said the additional leave is only for civil servants in the state’s departments, agencies and local authorities in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha on June 29.
