SEREMBAN: There will be no special holiday for civil servants in Negri Sembilan on Friday (June 30) as the state assembly is set to be dissolved the following day, says Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
"Since the state assembly will be dissolved on Saturday (July 1), it would be good for us to come into the office on the last day (Friday) to do any pending work and meet and thank the civil servants who had served commendably for the past five years," the Mentri Besar said on Wednesday (June 28).
He said those who wished to take a longer break to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha would be allowed to take leave.
Earlier on Wednesday, Aminuddin had an audience with state Ruler Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir to seek the Yang di-Pertuan Besar's consent to dissolve the state assembly.
Selangor has agreed to grant an additional day off for civil servants in the state this Friday (June 30) in accordance with the Holiday Act 1951 (Act 359).
State Secretary Datuk Haris Kasim said the additional leave was only for civil servants in Selangor's departments, agencies and local authorities in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha on Thursday (June 29).
