SHAH ALAM: The nationwide Aidiladha Madani programme under the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) is expected to generate RM11mil in sales, says its chairman.

Aminuddin Zulkipli said the programme, which started yesterday and will go on until Wednesday, involved more than 20,000 entrepreneurs at 203 Fama marketing outlets.

“Fama will ensure sufficient supplies and shoppers need not worry about not getting what they need,” he said after launching the national-level Aidiladha Madani programme at the Shah Alam Stadium farmers’ market.

He said Fama was targeting to sell up to 30,000 chickens worth RM440,000 along with 6.2 tonnes of meat worth RM220,000 during the programme.

Outlets involved in the initiative are its farmers’ markets, permanent farmers’ markets, Rural Transformation Centres and Medan Niaga Satok.

Aminuddin also gave his assurance that the supply of meat, chicken, vegetables and coconuts would be sufficient ahead of the Aidiladha celebration this week.

Consumers would also be able to get Aidiladha delicacies such as ketupat, rendang, lemang and kuih, he added.

At the event, Aminuddin also launched ‘Kombo Madani’, consisting of one chicken as well as lemongrass, galangal, ginger and turmeric leaves, priced at RM10 and limited to 100 customers. – Bernama
