THE search for the right international school can be overwhelming for many parents, especially those new to the international school scene. With over 200 international schools in Malaysia, parents are spoilt for choice when it comes to options for their children.

Selangor alone has over 80 international schools.

Therefore, parents are encouraged to do their research and plan early when it comes to choosing the right international school.

The upcoming 18th Private and International School Fair in Kuala Lumpur organised by Mint Communications will be held on May 27 and 28 from 11am to 6pm at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre.

This is the largest education fair featuring private schools in Malaysia and abroad, attracting thousands of families each year.

The fair provides parents with the opportunity to connect with representatives from leading international schools both local and overseas, including boarding schools, preschools and learning centres, as well as providers of pre-university programmes and universities.

Additionally, a few special educational needs (SEN) providers and non-school organisations seeking to promote their offerings will be exhibiting at the fair.

Exhibitors at the fair include HELP International School, MAHSA International School, Maple Leaf Kingsley International School, Sayfol International School, Sunway International School, Taylor’s International School, Westlake International School and XCL Education Malaysia - R.E.A.L Schools and Sri KDU.

International schools that offer boarding facilities such as Marlborough College Malaysia and Prince of Wales Island International School will also be participating in the fair.

A number of foreign schools and UK colleges and universities will also be present at the fair, offering a range of primary and secondary school programmes, as well as pre-university, undergraduate and postgraduate courses. These include Cardiff Sixth Form College and St Andrew’s College, Concord College, Herriot-Watt University, St. George’s University, Pal Buddhist School (Australia), The Institute of Education (Ireland), and Copperfield International School (Switzerland).

Visitors will have the opportunity of finding out about the special discounts, fee waivers and scholarship opportunities being offered by exhibitors at the fair and to benefit from them. Parents and children will also be able to take part in free activities and workshops, and watch performances by students from several international schools.
