King and Queen extend Ramadan greetings

PETALING JAYA: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah extended their Ramadan greetings to all Muslims in Malaysia.

With the arrival of Ramadan, Sultan Abdullah urged all Muslims to reap the blessings of the holy month by strengthening their faith and increasing religious activities and good deeds.

“Let’s fill the month with good deeds and meaningful pursuits, including strengthening solidarity with one another during this holy month.

“May all of us be able to observe fasting in the month of Ramadan in the most ideal manner so that we will be placed among the pious,” His Majesty said in a statement issued by Istana Negara yesterday.

The King also reminded Malaysians not to waste food during Ramadan.

“This is contrary to Ramadan which should be a month where the Muslims should practise moderation and not be wasteful,” he added.

Their Majesties also invited all Muslims to join them in praying Malaysia continued to be blessed and protected from any form of threats and calamity.
