Negri govt has offered land in three areas for PPR, says Mentri Besar

SEREMBAN: The Negri Sembilan government has offered land in three districts for the construction of houses under the federal government's People's Housing Project (PPR) initiative, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminudin Harun.

He said the land is between 8ha and 12ha in size and is in Jempol, Tampin and Seremban and added that this is for the Local Government Ministry’s consideration for PPR projects next year.

“We are happy to be able to do our part to allow more people to have a roof over their heads," he told reporters after launching the new logo for the Rembau district council on Wednesday (March 22)

Aminudin said his administration has always been supportive of the scheme as it was for the benefit of the people.

He said similar projects had been carried out in Rembau and Port Dickson recently.

On Sunday (March 19), Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming said states that offered land in strategic locations would be given priority for the implementation of PPR.

He said the federal government has allocated RM387mil for the programme this year.

On this, Aminudin said that the proposed sites are located in strategic areas.

"We made sure the proposed areas are not too far away from important places and had good infrastructure. We have done our part. The final decision to proceed will be in the hands of the ministry," he added.
