Johor floods: Batu Pahat sees a 50% drop in evacuees as more return home


JOHOR BARU: The number of flood victims in Batu Pahat have dropped to 3,086 people from 863 families as of 8pm on Tuesday (March 21).

The State Disaster Management Committee said the drop was about 50% compared to the 8am figure of 6,740 people from 1,923 families.

"The number of temporary relief centres (PPS) has also dropped from 43 to 25 within the past 12 hours.

"At the moment, the PPS with the highest number of evacuees is at SK Seri Medan with 365 people and Sekolah Agama Seri Medan with 361 people," it said in a statement here.

While the PPS with the lowest number of victims is at Sekolah Agama Seri Bertam with six people from one family.
