PMO vows to take legal action

KUALA LUMPUR: Legal action will be taken against those who are found to have misused the name of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) for any purpose.

In a statement, it said the act of misusing the PMO’s name was highly irresponsible and gave a negative impact on the credibility of the PMO and government institutions.

“The PMO will not hesitate to take action, including legal measures, against those involved in such matters,” the statement said.

The PMO did not refer to any parties specifically.

However, the statement came after Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong told the Dewan Rakyat that an individual called “Deepak” had contacted him about the egg shortage issue.

Dr Wee said he was told by this individual called “Deepak” to issue a clarification on the egg shortage issue following alleged discussions with the PMO.
