Floods: Johor situation improves with over 28,000 evacuees in two districts

JOHOR BARU: The flood situation in Johor is improving with only two districts affected.

The state disaster management committee said the number of evacuees dropped to below the 30,000 mark on Thursday (March 16).

It said as of 8pm, the two remaining flood-hit districts were Batu Pahat and Segamat.

"There are currently 28,008 evacuees at 96 temporary relief centres (PPS) in the two districts.

"The bulk of the evacuees is in Batu Pahat, which has 27,964 people being housed at 94 PPS around the district," it said in a statement.

It added there are currently 44 evacuees at two active PPS in Segamat, which is Balairaya Batu Badak and Dewan Komuniti Kampung Tasek.
