JOHOR BARU: Operations at 21 government health clinics and village clinics are still suspended temporarily due to the ongoing floods, says Ling Tian Soon.

The state Health and Unity Committee chairman said 40 such clinics in Batu Pahat, Segamat, Kota Tinggi, Muar and Tangkak have been affected by the floods.

“As of now, 19 of these clinics have resumed operations.

“The temporarily closed facilities are located in Batu Pahat (15), Muar (three), Tangkak (two) and Segamat (one),” he said when contacted.

Some of the closed clinics are located in Parit Sulong, Sri Gading, Sri Menanti, Sri Mendapat, Tanjong Sembrong, Parit Belating, Parit Bilal, Panchor, Chaah and Kundang Ulu.

“The appointments at these affected clinics have been rescheduled; patients will be informed by the respective facilities.

“Operations at certain clinics, such as the one in Chaah, have been temporarily moved to nearby facilities like multipurpose halls, which also serve as temporary flood relief centres to tend to patients and flood victims,” said Ling, who is also Yong Peng assemblyman.
