DESPITE being her rival in love, Hong Kong superstar Sammi Cheng said former actress Jacqueline Wong deserves a “brand new start”, following a transition in the latter’s career into music, reported Sin Chew Daily.
Wong, who was caught kissing Cheng’s husband – singer Andy Hui at the back of a taxi in 2019, relaunched her career on Valentine’s Day by releasing a new single and music video entitled Crown Me.
Cheng, who on multiple occasions had said she forgave her husband’s cheating, was magnanimous enough to wish Wong well.
“If you ask me, everyone deserves a brand new start. No matter what they experienced, everyone should have the chance to start again,” she said when asked about Wong’s comeback.
After getting caught red-handed, both Wong and Hui made headlines across Hong Kong tabloids.
They later made public apologies and took a break from work.
While Hui staged his comeback last year with his wife’s blessing, Wong has not been active since the scandal. The actress’ contract with TVB ended in the middle of 2022.
Wong has also scrubbed off most of her Instagram posts, leaving only a handful of photos, which could signify a new start for the actress.
> Taiwanese singer Selena Jen appears to have fallen head over heels with her younger boyfriend and was seen sharing multiple photos of them together during Valentine’s Day, reported China Press.
The 41-year-old uploaded photographs of them but added a smiling emoji in all to hide her beau’s face.
“Today is really a happy Valentine’s Day. I thank myself, and I thank you,” she wrote online.
Fans comments flooded the singer’s social media, telling her how happy they were that she had found a new love after her divorce.
“Please continue to be happy!” a netizen wrote.
It was earlier reported that Jen was spotted in public together with a younger man in the beginning of 2022. She later admitted that they were dating.
While not much is known about Jen’s boyfriend, she was reported to have said that he is seven years her junior and was not a celebrity.
Jen was once married to lawyer Richard Chang but the couple divorced in 2016.
After the divorce, she vowed never to get married again but retracted her words last year.
Jen rose to prominence in 2001 with the all-girl band S.H.E, which also comprised Ella Chen and Hebe Tien.
