PETALING JAYA: More than 13,000 job opportunities from 140 companies are being offered at the Housewives Social Security Scheme (SKSSR) and MYFutureJobs Career Carnival 2023 during the weekend.

The job opportunities are also extended to persons with disabilities (OKU).

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to attend the event organised by the Human Resources Ministry and the Social Security Organisation (Socso).

"We welcome the Prime Minister's attendance and support in our efforts to build a comprehensive and inclusive social security scheme in Malaysia," Socso said in a statement.

"People can meet Socso officials during the two-day event, learn more about SKSSR, its benefits, registration process, and obtain consultation to apply for jobs.

"Fellow husbands and third parties including NGOs and private companies are encouraged to provide sponsorship and show support for housewives," it added on Wednesday (Feb 8).

The SKSSR, introduced on Dec 1, last year, is for women who are Malaysians and permanent residents aged below 55, including those working full time or part-time.

The MYFutureJobs Career Carnival 2023 is Socso's first large-scale carnival which aims to provide quality job opportunities, reduce unemployment rates, and empower the labour market.

The two-day carnival from Feb 11 will be open from 9am to 5pm, and will see participation from companies such as Maybank, BSN, EXIM Bank, KTM Malaysia, ExxonMobil, UMW, UOA Group, and Avisena Healthcare.

A variety of free career services are offered such as helping visitors prepare resumes, register for MYFutureJobs' online portal, receive career guidance, and a chance to win a variety of lucky draw prizes.

"Housewives and job seekers who are interested in joining can register at www.myfuturejobs.gov.my/career," Socso said.

Employers interested to join the career carnivals can visit www.perkeso.gov.my or call 1-300 22 8000.
