Selangor to meet stakeholders in February before announcing campsite guidelines

THE Selangor government will be holding a workshop with relevant stakeholders and agencies a week after Chinese New Year to speak about campsite guidelines in the state.

"At this moment, we are sending the invitation to all the relevant stakeholders and agencies," said local government committee chairman Ng Sze Han during a press conference at the Klang Executive Club in Klang

He said the guidelines would be explained in detail during the workshop.

On Dec 21, Ng said they were carrying out a survey on all campsites as it was not clearly specified under the business licence category.

A census is being carried out to determine if existing sites are ecologically sensitive or are risky areas.

A landslide that occurred on Dec 16, 2022 at the Father’s Organic Farm camping site in Batang Kali claimed 31 lives, with 61 survivors.
