Three held for allegedly kidnapping teenage girl

SEPANG: Two men and a woman have been detained in connection with the abduction of a 13-year-old girl, who was found after going missing for three days from a homestay.

Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said police detained a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman during a raid at a condominium in Shah Alam on Tuesday.

“We also detained a 21-year-old man at a shopping mall in Section 13, Shah Alam, on the same day.

“We seized various items including mobile phones, helmets and clothing.

“The two male suspects admitted to riding a motorcycle to the homestay in Sepang to meet the victim. One of them then left with the victim via an ehailing ride,” he said when contacted.

Initial investigations revealed that the 21-year-old suspect was the victim’s boyfriend, said ACP Wan Kamarul Azran.

“We are investigating under Section 361 of the Penal Code. All three suspects will be remanded,” he added.

It was previously reported that the victim went missing at about 2.30am on Dec 25.

CCTV footage from the homestay showed that the girl left the premises with a man.
