Negri bans all activities in forest reserves during rainy season

SEREMBAN: The authorities have banned all recreational activities, including jungle trekking, in the permanent forest reserve areas of Negri Sembilan due to the wet season.

The state Forestry Department said the ruling, which came into force on Dec 1, will be effective indefinitely.

This means all forest eco parks, PD Forest Sg Menyala, and Kenaboi state park are out of bounds to visitors for now.

"These areas will be closed to the public indefinitely.

"This is a precautionary measure due to the rainy season and to prevent incidents that could result from the water surge or ‘kepala air’ phenomenon," it said in a statement on Friday (Dec 16).
