Nepali charged with murdering two countrymen in Seremban


SEREMBAN: A Nepali man has been charged at the Magistrate's Court here with murdering two of his compatriots earlier this month.

No plea was recorded from 37-year-old Thakur Prasad Bhandari after the charges were read to him before Magistrate Mohamad Ibrahim Mohammad Ghulam on Wednesday (Dec 14).

For the first charge, he was accused of murdering Manoj Kumar Chaudhary, 35, at premises at the Oakland Commercial Centre.

For the second, he was accused of killing 46-year-old Krishna Kumar Damai Pariyar at the same place.

He allegedly committed both offences between 9.08am and 4.48pm on Dec 3.

Thakur was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

It is learnt that the accused was a manager at the premises which served as a canteen for workers in the area, while both the victims worked as security guards.

The accused was unrepresented while Nurul Muhaimin Mohd Azman prosecuted.

It was earlier reported that both the victims had suffered blunt trauma to the face after being bludgeoned with a hammer.

The suspect, who was believed to have been under the influence of alcohol, was also found at the crime scene.

Police also found a hammer which is believed to have been used in the alleged attack.
