PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,616 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday (Dec 8), says the Health Ministry.
According to the ministry's KKMNow portal, 1,615 of the new Covid-19 infections in the country were local transmissions, while there was 1 imported case.
This brings the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 5,006,855 cases since the pandemic began.
A total of 4 deaths were recorded on Thursday with 1 classified as being brought in dead, bringing the total to 36,742.
