PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will summon Parti Amanah Negara's Mohd Sany Hamzan over the alleged misappropriation of RM600bil in funds by the previous government.
A source said the call to Amanah's national mobility chief was to obtain information and documents relating to the alleged expenditure of funds during the administration of former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
"This follows Mohd Sany's claim that he was collecting evidence of various procedural violations related to the allegation and that he would submit the evidence to the authorities for further action," the source told Utusan Malaysia.
On Nov 30, Mohd Sany, who is Hulu Langat MP, lodged a police report about the RM600bil misappropriation that was said to have taken place during Muhyiddin's time as the premier.
However, Muhyiddin denied it on Wednesday (Dec 7) and said he was not afraid of being investigated.
MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki had confirmed that the MACC had opened an investigation paper on the alleged misappropriation of funds.
