A woman in Tamil Nadu died after accidentally drinking a bottle of pesticide thinking it was a bottle of soda, Malaysia Nanban reported.
The doctor, named only as Dr Jasmin, 67, retired last month after working at a tea plantation hospital in Coimbatore for 22 years. She was the wife of the plantation manager.
Earlier, Dr Jasmin and her husband decided to vacate the house provided for them at the plantation and move back to their hometown in Nagarcoil.
While packing up their belongings, someone had accidentally placed the pesticide bottle, which looked similar to a soda bottle, together with other soda bottles.
She then took a drink from the bottle. She soon became ill and vomited.
Her husband and their workers rushed her to a nearby government hospital, but she was pronounced dead.
