Terengganu open to discussions on holding state polls simultaneously

KUALA TERENGGANU: Terengganu is open to discussion with other states to hold their state elections simultaneously to save cost, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.

He also said at the moment, no formal discussions have been held among the six states involved, namely Terengganu, Kelantan, Kedah, Selangor, Negri Sembilan and Penang.

However, he said there were casual discussions regarding the matter.

"We will try to find the time and place for a formal discussion to synchronise the dissolution of the state assemblies,” he said to reporters after an event at Wisma Darul Aman here.

Selangor, Penang and Negri Sembilan are led by Pakatan Harapan while Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan are under PAS’ administration.
