Motorist, 42, killed as cars collide in Kluang


KLUANG: A 42-year-old woman was killed after her car collided with another vehicle at Jalan Kahang Barat here on Sunday (Dec 4) afternoon.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the accident occurred at 1.30pm when the victim, Norsahida Ramdan, was driving from Jalan Padang Tembak to Felda Kahang Barat.

"The victim lost control of her vehicle and (hit) an oncoming vehicle in the opposite lane.

"The other vehicle was driven by a 29-year-old woman, with her mother, aged 70, in the front passenger seat," he said when contacted.

According to ACP Bahrin, the duo suffered serious head injuries and were being treated at Hospital Kluang while Norsahida was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Kluang Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Mohd Noorhakim Nordin said their team had to use special equipment to extricate Norsahida, who was pinned inside her vehicle.
