PETALING JAYA: The president of Egypt has extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Abdel Fattah El Sisi (pic), in a statement on Sunday (Dec 4), said he looked forward to deepening the relationship between both countries.
"Both our countries have witnessed, at different stages, bright signs of cooperation in various political and economic fields.
"I am looking forward to witnessing in the upcoming period more cooperation to deepen the relations between Egypt and Malaysia, in various bilateral levels and in different mutual international forums that our friendly countries are members of.
"I would like to seize this opportunity to express my sincere wishes of success to the prime minister in his new responsibility, especially in this delicate time where the world is witnessing many challenges," he said.
Meanwhile Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry in a separate statement, also congratulated his newly-appointed Malaysia counterpart Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir.
"I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere wishes of success in performing your responsibility, which will benefit the friendly people of Malaysia," he said.
