GE15 is over, focus should be on development and welfare now, says Melaka CM

MELAKA: The 15th General Election (GE15) is over and it's time to move on, says Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali.

The Melaka Chief Minister said the focus should be given to development and the welfare of the people without wasting energy on political issues.

"There is so much for us to concentrate on and get things going, especially on economic development as well as uplifting the quality of lives of the locals.

"Let's talk about positive things and how to work together in bringing the state to greater heights," he said in an interview on Saturday (Nov 26).

Sulaiman also hopes to strengthen harmonious living among all communities in the state.

"Let us all live happily and forget political differences," he said.

Sulaiman said events like Relay for Life (RFL) organised by the National Cancer Society of Malaysia could be a platform for all races to get together and do good for the community, especially for cancer survivors

"We need to organise more of these charitable events and get all races to participate.

"We need to create more volunteers for such events that comprise all races," he added.

The RFL will be held on Dec 4 at the Melaka-Manipal Medical College in Bukit Baru, here.

Those interested to be part of RFL can contact 06-292 1231 or 019-221 7921.
