GE15: Umno supreme council member drops hint of working with Pakatan

PETALING JAYA: Umno supreme council member Datuk Dr Puad Zarkashi (pic) has hinted that Barisan Nasional might go with Pakatan Harapan to form a unity government.

When asked at the Putra World Trade Centre on Wednesday (Nov 24) after the Umno supreme council meeting if it was Perikatan Nasional or Pakatan, he said the formation of Perak and Pahang governments was the best clue.

"It's easy. It's definitely not Perikatan as they have rejected a unity government and GPS was willing to listen to the Yang di-Pertuan Agung.

"It was a consensus decision by Umno to move forward taking into account the King's advice.

Perak Barisan has formed a government with Pakatan and Pahang is mulling such a move although it has had negotiations with both Pakatan and Perikatan.

Puad said Barisan will join in an unity government or in any other form.

"Umno will go down to explain and both MCA and MIC must accept the reality.

"The council last night made a decision not to work with Perikatan and leave it to the King to decide on the unity government," he said.
