KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic flow on some of the country’s main highways as of 5pm yesterday was reported to be slow due to a rise in vehicles heading to the nation’s capital.
Most people were returning home after voting in the 15th General Election (GE15) on Saturday.
A Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) spokesperson said traffic was slow-moving for three kilometres leading to the Karak toll plaza, from the Karak intersection to Bentong toll plaza until Lentang, Bukit Tinggi to Genting Sempah and from the Gombak Rest and Service area (R&R) to the Gombak toll plaza.
“Also, slow traffic was reported at Yong Peng to Machap, Simpang Renggam to Sedenak, Bukit Gambir to Jasin, Pedas Linggi to Senawang and then to Port Dickson Junction,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
Southbound traffic was also reported to be slow at Permatang Pauh to Perai, Bukit Gantang to Bukit Berapit, Kuala Kangsar to the Sungai Perak R&R, Menora Tunnel to Ipoh, Ipoh to Simpang Pulai R&R and Rawang to Sungai Buloh.
