Covid-19 Watch: 1,633 new cases, says Health Ministry


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,633 new Covid-19 infections on Sunday (Nov 20), says the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Monday (Nov 21) that this brings the new total to 4,967,299 cases since the pandemic began.

Of the 1,633, there were three imported cases; while 1,630 were local.

The ministry also said through its KKMNow portal that there were 1,989 recoveries on Monday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 26,798.

Of the active cases, 92.7% or 24,847 individuals were undergoing home quarantine, while 6.9% of active cases or 1,857 individuals needed to be hospitalised, with 94 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.

Of that number, 55 require ventilator support.

Two deaths were also reported, bringing the total of deaths due to Covid-19 up to 36,595
