GE15: Two pairs of brothers retain Sabah parliamentary seats


KOTA KINABALU: Two sets of brothers from Sabah are set to retain their parliamentary seats.

They are the Bahanda brothers – Wetrom and Verdon – and the Apdal brothers – Shafie and Yusof – who all won their respective seats.

Parti Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal has unofficially retained the Semporna seat he had held from 1995 for the seventh term while his brother Datuk Yusof won Lahad Datu.

The Bahanda brothers, Wetrom, contesting under Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) stunned Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili when he won the Kota Marudu seat.

His brother, Verdon, who stood as an independent in Kudat has unofficially won the seat.
