IPOH: Perikatan Nasional component parties are required to table their accounts during the general assemblies of the respective parties, says Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
The Perak Perikatan chairman, who is also Bersatu’s deputy president, said it was compulsory for the parties to do so.
“The accounts are nothing confidential, we (coalition parties) do it annually.
“So I am shocked if PKR doesn't do it in its general assembly,” he said at a press conference after announcing Perak Perikatan’s manifesto at a hotel here.
He was asked to comment on PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s comment that he is ready to disclose his party’s account statements if Perikatan chairmanTan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin does the same.
Anwar had previously claimed that Perikatan had become the richest coalition from projects worth billions of ringgit during the Covid-19 pandemic.
On this, Ahmad Faizal said in Perak and Tambun specifically, everyone could figure out how much one political flag cost, and the number of Pakatan Harapan’s flags visible there.
“Tambun looks like it is celebrating the national day of Vietnam, with red flags everywhere.
“The “A” sign on the flag looks like a rocket, because we know DAP is the dominant party in Pakatan; if it was a ‘star’, then it would definitely look like the Vietnam flag,” he added.
Ahmad Faizal will be up against Anwar, Tambun Umno division chief Datuk Aminuddin Md Hanafiah and Abdul Rahim Tahir from Pejuang for the parliamentary seat.
