Woman killed in car-truck crash in Johor


KULAI: A 25-year-old woman was killed after her car crashed into a five-tonne truck at Jalan Air Hitam Batu 24, here.

Kulai Fire and Rescue Department commander Mohd Firdaus Juritah said that the incident occurred at about 1.06pm on Wednesday (Nov 16).

“The victim was pinned inside the vehicle, and we used special tools to bring the body out before it was handed over to the police,” he said in a statement, here.

The victim is identified as Chai Jia Ling, and was pronounced dead at the location by the medical team, he added.

“The lorry driver, a 57-year-old man, also suffered injuries and has been sent to the hospital for treatment,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow has confirmed the case and said that investigations are still ongoing.
