GE15: PAS leaders commend supporters for 'defending' Batu 6

KUALA NERUS: PAS leaders commended their supporters for defending and making sure no other political flags can be put up in Batu 6, here.

Its deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said there are two areas in Terengganu where other political flags are not allowed to be pitched - Marang and Batu 6.

"There's only two "forbidden lands' - (Tanah Haram), Makkah and Madinah.

"In Terengganu, there are two "forbidden lands" - Marang also they can't (put up other political flags) and Batu 6.

"Thank you and congratulations to the youngsters here for defending and making sure only PAS' flags can survive in Batu 6," he said in an evening session held in front of the Pasar Batu 6, here.

Yesterday, a group of rowdy people obstructed eight Pakatan Harapan election workers, including a contesting candidate, when they tried to put up their party flags at the Batu 6 roundabout.

Sources told The Star that Pakatan has been trying to put up its flags in the area - a PAS stronghold - since Monday (Nov 14), but they were prevented from doing so.

It is learnt that Pakatan's Kuala Nerus candidate Datuk Suhaimi Hashim was also part of the convoy that was forced to turn back last night after failing to put up their flags.
