GE15: Pahang cops beefing up manpower for polling day


KUANTAN: Pahang will have just over 900 more people to help out and monitor the polling process on Saturday (Nov 19).

Pahang police chief Comm Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said 823 additional personnel would come from various departments, training centres and formations.

They will report for duty on Wednesday (Nov 16), together with another 79 personnel from the Pahang police contingent, bringing the total to 902, he said.

Comm Ramli said that with the reinforcements, Pahang police will have over 5,000 personnel monitoring the election process on Nov 19.

He said the extra 902 people would be deployed across all 11 districts in Pahang as is deemed necessary.

He also said Pahang police would be assisted by 1,102 personnel from Rela and another 77 volunteer reserve cops.
