GE15: Lenggong voters ask Pakatan candidate if possible to prepare sampan, umbrellas

IPOH: Locals at a flood-prone area have asked a candidate about his efforts to help them on polling day.

"If there's a flood, they have asked me for people to help take them to the polling centre. They also want to know if I can prepare sampan and umbrellas," said Mohamad Jamean Zulkepli, the Pakatan Harapan candidate for the Kenering state seat in Lenggong, during a press conference on Tuesday (Nov 15).

Mohamad Jamean added that it has been raining every day in Lenggong.

"The situation is currently under control, but I am a little bit worried looking at the rainfall data which has been increasing," he said.

His concerns would be for voters who live close to the river.

"We will do what is necessary to help the people on that day. My team has identified which areas may be affected and we are ready to help," he said, adding that saving lives and tending to emotionally-distressed people will be his focus.

Mohamad Jamean is a first time candidate contesting against Husairi Ariffin (Perikatan Nasional) and Rohaida Mohamad Yaakub (Barisan Nasional).
