SEREMBAN: Rafizi Ramli’s claim of making RM25,000 a month at 27 years old does not hold water, says Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias (pic).
Commenting on the PKR deputy president’s asset declaration, the Barisan Nasional candidate for Jelebu questioned the figures given by the PKR deputy president.
He added that every company, be it in the government or public sector, has payment grades that would follow hierarchy.
“So what happens to the senior officers and staff? That pay rise would affect the whole system of the organisation.
“It is not logical,” he said after meeting constituents in Batu Serambai.
In his speech to the constituents, he said that it was very hard to believe a 27-year-old would make that much a month from a salary.
Recently, Rafizi said that his salary rose to RM25,000 a month when he was 27-years-old after being promoted to division head.
“At the age of 26, my starting salary at PETRONAS was RM3,750. After six months, I was promoted to a manager and my salary rose to RM11,000 a month and a year later, I was promoted to head of the petrochemical planning division at the age of 27 which saw my salary soar to RM25,000 per month,” he said at a press conference at the PKR headquarters on Nov 7.
At the press conference, he was explaining how he managed to save over RM2mil by the age of 30, which he then used to finance to start up Invoke.
Jalaluddin, the Jelebu incumbent is currently in a four-cornered fight with Datuk Zulkefly Mohd Omar (Pakatan Harapan), Zaharuddin Baba Samion (Perikatan Nasional) and Ahmad Fakri Abu Samah (GTA) for the upcoming polls.
