> Passengers aboard a train in Tamil Nadu, India had a harrowing moment when several coaches separated from the engine, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The Cheran Express from Chennai to Coimbatore left the station with 22 passenger coaches. As it passed the Thiruvallur station, a steel link between coaches seven and eight snapped resulting in 16 coaches being left behind while the engine with six coaches sped ahead.

The train drivers who realised what happened brought the front set of coaches to a controlled stop while the back coaches came to a stop past the station platform on their own.
