GE15: Anwar and Rafizi giving contradictory figures, says Hisham

SIMPANG RENGGAM: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Rafizi Ramli have been giving contradictory figures in their expectations for the election, says Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.

"Before this, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's prediction was for Pakatan Harapan to win 100 seats nationwide but Rafizi later said 80.

"Now he (Rafizi) said they can win 15 seats in Johor, I am waiting to see what Anwar says.

"If they can't agree among themselves on the numbers, then what prediction are we talking about?," said Hishammuddin to the press after the Simpang Renggam Barisan machinery launch here on Monday (Nov 7) night.

He said this when asked about Rafizi saying that Pakatan could win 15 parliamentary seats in Johor based on a survey by Invoke Malaysia.

Hishamuddin added that he is unfazed by such predictions as Rafizi had made incorrect predictions in the past.

"Rafizi has made all kinds of predictions before this and some are incorrect but people forget. At the same time, when the prediction is right, he will claim credit.

"So, I am not going to entertain his predictions," said Hishamuddin who is defending his Sembrong seat in GE15.

Meanwhile, Simpang Renggam Barisan candidate Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad said that the coalition's victory in gaining 40 seats during the state election would be helpful in GE15.

"I believe that the 40 Barisan assemblymen will work hard to pay back the good deeds of voters in choosing them.

"What better way to show their appreciation than to contribute their energy and ideas in helping our machinery win this election as well," he said.

He added that with Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi helming the Machap seat, which is one of the state seats under Simpang Renggam constituency, Barisan will have better chances of developing the area if it wins the election.
